Prof. Dr. S. Tamer Çavuşgil, a member of the Sabancı University Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), and Professor and Fuller E. Callaway Chair at the J. Mack Robinson School of Business, Georgia State University, has been awarded the 2026 Hyundai Motor Eminent Scholar Award by the Academy of Management (AOM) International Management Division, one of the most respected organizations in the international academic world.

Recognized for his pioneering contributions to the field of international business and marketing, Prof. Dr. Çavuşgil has once again had his academic impact recognized on a global scale with this prestigious award.
Global Recognition for Academic Contribution
The Hyundai Motor Eminent Scholar Award, given by the Academy of Management International Management Division, is presented to honor long-standing scientific contributions and academic leadership in the field of international business. This award stands out as one of the most prestigious international academic recognitions given to scientists who have made a lasting impact in their field.

A Pioneering Figure in International Business: Prof. Dr. S. Tamer Çavuşgil
Prof. Dr. S. Tamer Çavuşgil completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Middle East Technical University. He then went to the United States with a scholarship from the Turkish Education Foundation for his master's and doctoral studies, where he earned an MBA and a doctorate in international business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After his education in the USA, Çavuşgil returned to Türkiye and worked as a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Middle East Technical University. Afterwards, Çavuşgil returned to the USA and served successively at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (as assistant professor and associate professor), Bradley University (as professor), and Michigan State University (as John Byington Chair Professor). Since 2008, Çavuşgil has been a Fuller E. Callaway Chair Professor at Georgia State University and serves as the director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), a research center supported by the federal government. Previously a visiting professor at Manchester Business School and Cambridge University Judge Business School in the UK, Çavuşgil has been a visiting professor at the University of Leeds (UK) since 2012 and at the University of South Australia since 2015. Çavuşgil's academic work focuses on international business, export marketing, strategy, global firms, and rapidly developing economies. He has authored over 200 articles and more than 20 books, and his work has received approximately 35,000 citations on Google Scholar. He is among the top five academics in the world in his fields of study. Since the 1980s, Çavuşgil has secured $25 million in funding for research, faculty training, and various business purposes. His academic contributions include journal editorships. He served as the founding editor of the Journal of International Marketing and Advances in International Marketing, and currently serves as the editor of Rutgers Business Review. Due to his scientific contributions, Çavuşgil has been honored by various institutions. He received honorary doctorates from Hasselt University (Belgium) in 2014 and the University of Southern Denmark (Denmark) in 2017. In 2018, Atılım University awarded him an honorary professorship. Çavuşgil has also received the "Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award" from the American Marketing Association and the "JIBS Decade Award" from the Academy of International Business.
